I lived here for three years and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Are the apartments nice? They are standard. Are the hallways nice? Dog pee stains everywhere. After the horrible experience I had management promised me I would get my $500 security deposit back. Instead they charged me $2,300… with no reasoning as to why. I do not recommend living here.

If you are considering moving to here, below are some things to consider: There is no app to connect with your neighbors or any sort of community events. If a sense of community is important to you, this building does not offer one. The amenities are “check the box” in nature. If you are a serious gym goer or want to impress your friends with the sweeping views of Seaport from the 3rd floor common area, I would not recommend this building. Management does nothing about smoking in this building. This might be a pro for some people if you like to smoke in your unit. If you are touring, I would recommend opening all the closets and checking for the smell of smoke. The bathroom and vent areas are also great places to check. If you have a view of your neighbor’s windowsill, I would also recommend checking that for ash and cigarettes (picture attached for reference). The front desk spends the majority of their time sorting packages in the mail room. The building likes to refer to the front desk as a “concierge”, but swing by the building in the evening or on a Sunday and you will see what I mean. Receiving packages in the mail room is quite nice. I would not recommend mailing packages out of it though, especially anything of value. They lost a laptop that I was shipping. The appliances are nice, but my cupboards left a chemical smell/taste in my glasses the entire time I was there. Maintenance is timely and very helpful. The walls are thin. They do not stop the sound of your neighbor using the bathroom, imagine how well they do at stopping music at 3 AM on a Sunday. Try to get a tour where you can you see two units next to each other so you can test it yourself. The sales staff is nice but that is also their job. Once you have signed the lease the courtesy goes away. If you truly want to live in Seaport, pick a building that does not have a giant ad on the top. If you need a place to party and smoke, look no further. Note that this is a UDR managed building as you look at others.

If I could give this apartment complex zero stars I would. This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had living in an apartment building. The building management is both inattentive and incompetent. Any complaints raised to management are met with the same response and lack of follow up. Example: Shortly after we moved in construction began where Whiskey Priest used to be. The construction was non-stop. It went on some days all night. My partner and I had to buy ear plugs in order to try to sleep through the night. When we asked the building management if there was any way we could move to another similar unit (which we knew were available since it was listed on the website) we were only offered a bigger unit at a much higher price range. How is that helpful??? We were in the middle of a pandemic trying to work from home. Things were already incredibly difficult - you would think that at this price range for a "luxury" apartment we would be accommodated. I'm not unreasonable - I could understand if they had literally no other units similar to ours in our price range but that wasn't the case. And even if they couldn't offer us another unit I don't understand why they couldn't have made another offer - perhaps a discount? I mean some days I literally had to work in the closet so that my coworkers could hear me properly over the construction noise. Additionally the pool is a joke. I have no clue how they managed to make the pool look bigger than it is on the website but its essentially a bathtub. Maybe the size of a hot tub or a kiddie pool. To say that one of your amenities is a "pool" is hilarious. Clearly I have a lot of unresolved feelings about this place. But these are only a couple examples of how inept the building management is - I could write a whole book on this place. For a building that will soon be obstructed by two new buildings blocking the view (which was the one positive of living in this building) you would think management would have a better customer service. However, they have made it abundantly clear that they do not care about the tenants in this building. If I had to give any stars to 100 Pier 4 it would be to the cleaning staff - they are incredible and so kind. Also I want to make it clear that I don't typically write reviews but I hate this place so much that I'm typing this long essay. I wouldn't recommend this building to my worst enemy - seriously.

Not only does the mediocrity of this 'luxury building' run afoul to their definition of value, it is managed by outright grifters. Forget about management even feigning an attempt at acknowledging tenant issues; they ignore you exist--that is as long as rent gets paid by the first of the month. Their accounting department is a sham. Automated messages will fill your inbox faster than you can get your head around ghost expenses that nobody can deign to answer over the phone. All you get is a reply of reverting within 48 hours which is more like 48 days with no resolution and ever increasing penalties. You see, whoever decided to stand up accounting for 100 Pier 4, came up with the clever idea of only attaching 'billed items' as documentation; actual payments received go straight to automated replies and G-d forbid you ask to speak to a human to clear up any misunderstandings. Not a chance. And forget about getting your security deposit back. You're lucky if they don't try to double down on 'unbilled' items. Shame on you Pier 4 and UDR! Note that past and present residents are banding together to bring a consumer complaint with the Mass AG's office. Not that you or management care. But maybe the public humiliation of a public record will eventually start to eat at your bottom line...and you'll go Nema's way...

I lived there for more than 18 months. In sum this place is terribly overprices in comparison to what else is available on the market. The management doesn't seem to care. The amenities are outdated and of poor quality.
